3 November 2008 New chief financial officer for motor finance group

Car Care Plan Holdings and Provident Insurance Ltd have announced the appointment of Simon Wright as their new group chief financial officer.

Previously chief financial officer for Car Care Plan Holdings, Simon has now taken on the additional role at Provident Insurance Ltd, a partner organisation of Car Care Plan Holdings, both of which sit within the GMAC Financial Services parent organisation.

With 21 years of financial experience, Simon will be heading up the compliance, risk and finance functions for both companies and will be overseeing the integration of Provident Insurance Ltd into the wider GMAC group.

Simon joined the warranty insurance subsidiary of Car Care Plan Holdings in 1993 as the company's second employee and was appointed finance director in 1998. He then went on to become managing director of Car Care Plan Ltd in 2002 before a promotion saw him take on the role of chief financial officer of Car Care Plan Holdings in 2005.

Simon, 42, studied for a degree in Chemistry at the University of Nottingham, graduating in 1987, before qualifying as a chartered accountant with professional services provider KPMG. He now lives with his wife in Skipton, and enjoys fell running, mountain biking, walking and competing in triathlons.
