16 October 2008 New MD at Car Care Plan Holdings

Car Care Plan Holdings, the parent company of Car Care Plan Ltd and Motors Insurance Company Ltd has appointed Paul Newton as managing director.

Paul, who has been promoted from managing director at Car Care Plan Ltd and will continue to head up Car Care Plan in the UK, will now take on additional responsibility for Car Care Plan Ltd in Latin America and Motors Insurance Company Ltd (MICL) in the UK. The move allows Car Care Plan Holdings' CEO Tim Heavisides to focus on the development of Provident Insurance, another company within the wider group.

Paul has a wealth of experience in the financial services sector and will be responsible for continuing the successful growth of the group in the UK and helping to expand the business across Latin America and Europe.

Having joined the company in 2002 as finance director, Paul was appointed managing director of Car Care Plan Ltd in Europe in 2005. Prior to this he spent 13 years in the Provident Financial Group, including six years as finance director with Provident Insurance.

Tim Heavisides, CEO of Car Care Plan Holdings, said: "Paul has been with us for seven years and has already achieved some fantastic results for Car Care Plan by building on our partnerships with some of the leading manufacturers and motor dealers in the UK.

Paul, 49, added: "I'm thrilled to step up to the new role and I'm looking forward to continuing the growth of our products and services across Europe and South America.

"Our business has grown significantly in recent years, and I'm excited about the opportunity to enhance and develop Car Care Plan Holdings moving forwards."

Originally from Cockermouth in Cumbria, Paul went to Leeds University, where he studied Economics. He later attended Durham University where he studied for a masters in Business Administration. He now lives with his wife Tina and son Charlie in Liversedge in West Yorkshire and enjoys playing golf in his spare time.
